Quincy, Ill. - Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) set the program record for points in a single game with 12 and the Flyers established a new record for goals in a game as the No. 9 Lewis University men's lacrosse team dominated Quincy, 30-8, Saturday afternoon in the first GLVC game of the year for both teams.
With the win, the Flyers improved to 8-2 (1-0 GLVC) while Quincy dipped to 2-7 (0-1).
IMPACT PLAYERS
Good led the Flyers with 12 total points on six goals and six assists.
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) scored a game-high seven goals and eight total points.
Carter Korzenski (Orchard Park, N.Y./Limestone) chipped in seven points of his own (4G, 3A) with
Camden Rappis (Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine HS) also matching his point total (3G, 4A).
Dylan Kendrick (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) scooped up eight ground balls while
Braylon Ray (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) caused two turnovers. In net,
Caden Donahue (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS) earned the win, making eight saves in 45:00 of action.
Seve Cordero and Mason Luoma led the Hawks with three goals each while Ricci Ankton collected six ground balls. Austin Vetter was charged with the loss, letting in all 30 goals and making 18 saves while playing the full contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all Flyers off the opening whistle as they rattled off four of the first five goals of the game in the opening five minutes. Both sides traded goals during the middle of the frame but two late goals from the Flyers courtesy of Ruskoski gave the red and white an 8-3 edge after 15 minutes.
Despite two early goals from Quincy to start the second quarter, the Flyers took flight once more as
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) found the twine to spurn a 3-0 spurt that lasted for most of the quarter to give the Flyers an 11-5 cushion. Both sides exchanged goals before the stanza ended with Lewis entering the locker room with a 13-6 edge.
The Flyers played their best quarter of the year out of halftime as they outscored Quincy 13-0 in the third quarter. During the frame, the red and white had eight different goal scorers, led by three goals each from Good and Ruskoski. In net, Donahue turned away all five shots that were on target.
Lewis did not relent in the fourth quarter as they outscored Quincy 4-2 to seal the 30-8 win.

Lewis has scored 20-or-more goals five times this season including within four of the last five games.
