Box Score Romeoville, Ill. - The No. 14 Lewis Flyers continued their sweep streak as they defeated No. 19 Purdue Fort Wayne in three sets

The Flyers, now winners of five straight, improved to 11-6 (4-3 MIVA) while the Mastodons dipped to 8-6 (3-4 MIVA).

IMPACT PLAYERS
Cameron Hoying (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) led the Flyers offensively with 17 kills in the three-set victory, while Diego Estrada (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Adianez) directed the offense with 29 assists. Defensively, Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) led Lewis with 11 digs, and Hoying teamed up with Frederick Krueger-Beer (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East) at the net as the duo combined for six blocks.
For Purdue Fort Wayne, Logan Muir led the Mastodons with 11 kills and added seven digs, while Hunter Hopkins dished out 23 assists in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Flyers took control of the first set, using an efficient offense and putting on pressure from behind the service line to take an early advantage. Lewis built momentum behind kills from Hoying and Todorov while limiting Purdue Fort Wayne's attack, eventually closing the frame with a late push to secure the 25-21 win and a 1-0 match lead.

The second set proved much tighter as both teams traded points throughout the middle of the match. Tied at 15-15, Lewis found separation as Hoying sparked the offense with several kills building the energy back up. Purdue Fort Wayne stayed within reach, but the Flyers held off the comeback attempt and finished the set on a strong note to take a 25-19 victory and move ahead 2-0 in the match.

Lewis once again leaned on its offense as Hoying and Haber combined for key points early in the final frame. The Mastodons attempted to stay close behind kills from Muir and Lyons, but the Flyers responded with a run midway through the set. Lewis maintained control down the stretch and sealed the sweep with a 25-21 set win to complete the 3-0 victory.
