Indianapolis, Ind. – Following a record-breaking performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Denise Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

This marked Hernandez's second outdoor weekly honor of the season, continuing a dominant Spring campaign for the Flyers.

Hernandez delivered a standout performance in Azusa, Calif., placing third in the long jump invitational with a leap of 6.39 meters. The mark currently ranks #1 in the nation, solidifying her
position as one of the top horizontal jumpers in NCAA Division II this season.

The Flyers return to action at the GLVC Championships, held April 30 through May 2 in Bolivar, Mo.
