2011-12 Highlights: Finished season with singles record of 36-6 and a combined mark of 32-7 in doubles play...named ITA Midwest Region 'Senior Player of the Year'...only unanimous selection to the All-GLVC Team...recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award - given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence...named to Capital One Academic All-America At-Large Third Team...finished year ranked 22nd in the nation in singles play...ranked 1st in the Midwest in singles action and fifth in doubles play with freshman Erik Aunapuu at the end of the year...selected as the GLVC Men's Tennis Player of the Week twice for the periods ending on March 11th and 18th...placed fifth in the singles bracket of the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships (Oct. 13-16)...he was the first men's tennis player in Lewis history to qualify for the event...won the singles bracket at ITA Midwest Regional (Sept. 23-25)...was 12-1 against regionally-ranked opponents in singles play during the spring season...won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with Michael Wojnarowski in the 4-3 loss to Division I Saint Louis (Oct. 6)...defeated both Rockhurst's John Lazenby (6-3, 6-1) and Southern Indiana's Juan Quiroz (6-2, 6-2) on April 20th to help Lewis advance to the GLVC Championship...was 4-1 with Aunapuu against regionally-ranked opponents from the Midwest...compiled a perfect doubles record of 8-0 with teammate Armand Levandi...finished his career with 213 career wins.
2010-11 Highlights: 2011 GLVC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and to All-GLVC East Division team…named Academic All-GLVC and ITA All-Academic…earned Lewis’ Delahanty Award for academic excellence among student-athletes…named GLVC Player of the Week on Apr. 19…ended season on a 21-match winning streak after losing only one singles match on the year due to injury going 25-1 overall…finished 22-3 overall in doubles action mainly with partner Tonis Irdoja…picked up a pair of victories in Lewis’ 7-2 upset of then #41 Ferris State.
2009-10 Highlights: Finished the season with a singles record of 30-1, including his current 24-match winning streak, and a combined mark of 25-8 in doubles action on his way to GLVC Player of the Year honors...ended the year ranked second in the region and 49th in the nation in singles play, while he and doubles partner Tonis Irdoja were also second in the region and 29th in the country...was 20-0 at No. 1 singles for the Flyers...named ITA 'Midwest Player To Watch' for 2010-11...earned victories over regionally-ranked opponents such as Rockhurst's Ben Newell (No. 5), Wayne State's Bertrand Moulin (No. 6), Ferris State's Kyle Revall (No. 9), Northern Kentucky's Guillaume Berman (No. 10) and Southern Indiana's Diego Gimenez (No. 15)...paired with Irdoja to claim wins of regionally-ranked Rockhurst (No. 3), Drury (No. 4) and Ferris State (No. 7)...two-time GLVC Player of the Week honoree for the periods ending March 28th and April 20th...rolled to the No. 1 Flight singles championship with wins over Nebraska-Kearney's Josh Raymond (6-2, 6-1), Minnesota State-Mankato's Marco Vazquez (6-0, 6-0) and St. Francis' Kuba Szymanski (6-3, 6-2) at the Upper Iowa Challenge (Sept. 13)...paired with teammate Lorenz Pestinger to claim the doubles title at the same event with wins over St. Francis (8-2) and Minnesota St.-Mankato (8-2)...advanced to the quarterfinals with victories over Grand Valley State's Jeff Globerson (6-0, 6-0), Southern Indiana's Joe Boesing (6-3, 7-5) and Lake Superior State's Razvan Mag (6-1, 6-0) at the Wilson/ITA Great Lakes Regional Singles Championship (Sept. 25)...paired again with Pestinger to advance to the quarterfinals of the Regional Championship with victories over Ferris State (8-5), Michigan Tech (8-3) and Grand Valley State (8-2)...breezed to the Lewis Flyer Classic singles title on October 10th with wins over Grand Valley State's Brock Plangger (6-0, 6-4), St. Francis' Luis Olivera (6-0, 6-2) and Grand Valley State's Marc Roesslein (6-2, 6-0).
2008-09 Highlights: Named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year...finished the season ranked sixth in the ITA Midwest Region singles rankings and seventh in doubles play with teammate Tonis Irdoja...was 22-11 in singles action and paired up with Irdoja in doubles play to finish 9-2 overall...was 7-2 in GLVC singles play, while he and Irdoja won six matches as a tandem...claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Rockhurst's regionally ranked Victor Klintcharov and later paired with Irdoja for the 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles over regionally ranked Ben and Zach Newell...for his efforts, Lapimaa was named the GLVC Men's Tennis Player of the Week...won three matches on his way to the 'A' flight singles title and paired with Irdoja to win two matches and the 'A' flight doubles title at the Upper Iowa Invitational (Sept. 13)...advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA/Midwest Regional (Sept. 26) with three victories in singles action...finished fourth overall in the 'A' flight singles draw of the Art Peterson Invitational (Oct. 3), hosted by Western Illinois, and paired with Irdoja to finish third in No. 1 doubles with victories over both Bradley (8-6) and Western Illinois (8-6)...won the 'Red' flight singles title and paired up with Irdoja to capture the 'Red' flight doubles title at the Flyer Fall Classic (Oct. 11).
2007-08 Highlights: Used season as redshirt campaign and will retain four years of eligibility.
Prep/Personal: son of Villem and Jelena Lapimaa...major is sport management.
