Biography

2014 Highlights: Recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award - given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence - and named to Academic All-GLVC Team...played in 26 games with 24 starts (20 at catcher and four at designated hitter)…had three hits and three runs scored vs. Quincy (March 15)…knocked in three runs, scored three times and recorded three hits vs. UIS (April 12)…doubled, singled and walked to score twice vs. Findlay (March 2)…had two hits, two RBI and a run scored at McKendree (April 26).

2013 Highlights: Picked up 44 starts in 45 games for the Flyers…had two doubles to open the season against Wheeling Jesuit (March 3, game 1)…hit a career-high two home runs, batting in three runs, in the second game against UW-Parkside (April 25)…had five three-hit games as a designated hitter.

2012 Highlights: Named to All-GLVC Second Team as a designated hitter...played in 38 games with 36 starts (31 at designated hitter and five at catcher)...knocked in three runs and scored once thanks to a pair of doubles and a single in the GLVC Tournament vs. Indianapolis (May 10)...had four RBI including a three-run home run in game one at Northern Kentucky (May 5)...recorded three RBI in game two at Southern Indiana (April 22)...doubled and singled and scored twoce in game one at Kentucky Wesleyan (April 15)...had three singles and a run scored in game one at UW-Parkside (April 3)...hit solo home runs in game two at William Jewell (March 18) and in game one vs. Missouri S&T (March 24)...walked three times, singled and scored in game one at Southern Indiana (April 21)...doubled twice and scored in game one at Indianapolis (April 7).

2011 Highlights: Played in six games with one start as a designated hitter...had two hits, two runs scored including a grand-slam in his first collegiate at-bat vs. Mary (March 4)...singled to score a run vs. UIS (March 19).

Prep/Personal: As a senior, hit .356, drove in 20 runs and had a .430 on base percentage...earned him First Team All-Area and All-Mid Suburban League accolades...brings experience with the Arlington Heights American Legion Post 208, Schaumburg Seminoles and Upper Deck Cougars...son of Stan and Dawn Kapka...Sport Management major.
