Chicago, Ill. – The Lewis University men's swimming team defeated Illinois Tech, 182-86, on Saturday (Nov. 3) to avenge a six-point loss in the 2011-12 season.

Roger Karns. “We had good swims from lots of different individuals.”
Sophomore
Tyson Polack (Canby, Ore./Canby) won three of his four events and took second in the other. He was the lead leg of the 200-yard medley relay working with
Peter Holanda (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West),
Alex Elston (Algonquin, Ill./Algonquin) and
Bryan Wiener (Mundelein, Ill.) to finish first with a time of 1:40.01.
Polack also took first in the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.97) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.62) while taking second in the 100-yard backstroke (56.21).
Junior
Derick Carlson (Norridge, Ill./St. Patrick) won the 200-yard freestyle (1:45.55), the 100-yard freestyle (48.91) and was the anchor leg of the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team of Wiener,
Brett Busch (East Moline, Ill./United Township) and Elston (4:01.56).
Senior
Brandon Drogemuller (Hollister, Calif./San Benito) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:46.57 and tapped the wall at 4:44.47 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Lewis next competes on Friday (Nov. 9) at Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill., at 11 AM. The squad then returns to Lewis Pool on Saturday (Nov. 10) to host Valparaiso at 1 PM.
