Lewis Men's Hoops Returns To Action Against Judson On Wednesday

Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM at Neil Carey Arena.

Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team returns to the court after a 10-day layoff to welcome Judson University to Neil Carey Arena on Wednesday (Dec. 19) night. Tip-off for the Flyers (4-2) and Eagles is slated for 7:30 PM.
   Live stats, audio and video streaming of Wednesday's game can be found at www.LewisFlyers.com. Wednesday's contest can also be heard on WJOL (1340 AM) with Mark Vasko providing the play-by-play action for the Lewis Sports Network.

LAST TIME OUT - Behind a career-high 27 points from sophomore guard Ryan Jackson (Bolingbrook, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield), Lewis shot 81.8% (18-for-22) in the second-half on their way to the 83-71 come-from-behind win over St. Francis (Ill.) on December 8th.

ALL TIME SERIES - Since Lewis entered the Division II ranks, the Flyers hold an 8-0 lead over the Eagles in their all-time series.

LAST TIME WE MET -  Lewis forced 27 Judson turnovers and scored 31 points off of the Eagles' miscues on their way to the 94-59 win on November 25, 2003. Lewis' Monta McGhee (Chicago, Ill./Robeson) led four Flyers in double-figures with a game-high 23 points.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE - Lewis has won their last 31 non-conference home contests, dating back to a 59-56 loss to Grand Valley State on November 26, 2005.

HOME COURT ADVANTAGE (PART DEUX) - Lewis is currently riding a four-game winning streak at Neil Carey Arena. Their last defeat on their home court was an 80-75 defeat at the hands of No. 1 Bellarmine on February 4, 2012.

DOUBLE-DIGITS - Jackson is currently riding a 10-game streak of scoring 10 or more points.

JUST PERFECT - Sophomore guard Jeff Jarosz (Lyons, Ill./Morton) (6-for-6) and freshmen forwards Kyle Nelson (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) (6-for-6) and Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) (2-for-2) did not miss a shot in Lewis' win over St. Francis. The last time that Lewis had three players not miss a shot (min. 2 attempts) came in an 88-78 loss to Northern Kentucky on March 1, 2008. Matthew Marino (4-for-4), Ryan Sharp (2-for-2) and Brandon Alexander (2-for-2) did not miss any of their attempts.

BULKING UP - Lewis head men's basketball coach Scott Trost's 2012 recruiting class of Paul Baumgart (Canton, Mich./Canton) (6-foot-7), Jared Ellis (Marion, Ill./Marion) (6-foot-8), Brad Foster (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) (6-foot-8), David Heckman (Greenwood, Ind./Roncalli) (6-foot-6) and Nelson (6-foot-7) all stand at least 6-foot-6.

HONORING HIS BROTHER - Lewis senior guard David Bryant (Batavia, Ill./Batavia) wears the number 12 in honor of his late brother Kevin who played for Trost at Illinois Wesleyan from 2004-06.

IRON MAN - Bryant has played in all 95 possible games for the Flyers in four seasons.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS - Lewis has held two opponents to under 50 points this season in five games. The Flyers accomplished that feat three times in each of the last two seasons.

DEFENSIVE CLAMPS (PART DEUX) - Lewis has held Olivet Nazarene (30.8%) and St. Francis (Ill.) (39.1%) to under 40.0% in each of their last two contests. The last time Lewis accomplished that feat in three-straight contests came during the 2010-11 campaign against Saint Joseph's (31.5%, Feb. 6; 29.3%, Feb. 10) and UW-Parkside (30.0%, Feb. 12).

MOVING UP THE CHARTS - Trost (106-76) needs seven more wins to pass former Lewis head basketball coach and Director of Athletics Paul Ruddy (112-75) for fourth in school-history for career victories.

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK - As of December 17th, Lewis was seventh in the nation in turnovers-per-game, averaging 10.5 miscues-per-contest.

AND DISHING THE ROCK - As of December 17th, Bryant leads the country in assist/turnover ratio at 6.33 (19 assists, 3 turnovers).
