Grand Valley State Meet Results
Allendale, Mich. – Lewis University freshman
Victor Tarin (Godelleta, Valencia, Spain/IES Conselleria) reached the podium three times as the men's swimming team fell to No. 5 Grand Valley State, 189-100, on Saturday (Nov. 2) at the Grand Valley State Pool.
The Flyers move to 2-1 on the season in dual meets.
Tarin won the 100-yard freestyle (46.91) and 100-yard butterfly (51.97). He placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:40.13, breaking his Lewis school-record of 1:40.14 set on October 19.
"We swam well against an outstanding team," Lewis head men's swimming coach
Roger Karns said. "Grand Valley State is one of the top ranked teams in the country and rightfully so."
Sophomore
Zach Ballon (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.87) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:12.58) for the Flyers.
Lewis freshman
Aidan Brennan (Naples, Fla. /Barron Collier) finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:44.70, as senior
Derick Carlson (Norridge, Ill./St. Patrick) tapped the wall right behind him with a time of 10:00.11. Brennan also took second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.03) and third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.17). Carlson finished in third-place in the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.73).
Lewis is back in the pool on Saturday (Nov. 9) when they travel to Indiana take on Valparaiso University.
