Lewis Men’s Golf Finishes In Seventh At NCAA Midwest Regional No. 1

NCAA Division II Midwest Regional No. 1 Results

Chicago, Ill. – Lewis University sophomore Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) turned in a 147 (73-74) to finish 17th indvidually for the men's golf team at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional No. 1 on Monday (Sept. 30).
 
The Flyers finished in seventh (597/291-306) after leading the tournament, heading into the final round at Harborside International Golf Club.  The 27-team field played on the Port (par-72, 6,883-yards) and Starboard (par-72, 6,997-yards) courses.
 
Grand Valley State won the team title with a score of 585 (299-286) while the Lakers' Chris Cunningham picked up the individual honor after posting a total of 142 (72-70).
 
Lewis junior Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) finished a stroke behind Dofflemyer with a score of 148 (70-78).
 
Sophomore Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington) (73-78) and junior Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) (75-76) both completed the tournament with a total of 151.
 
The Flyers wrap up the fall schedule with the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional No. 2 on Monday (Oct. 15) at the Fox Run Country Club in Eureka, Mo.
