BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – The Lewis University men's golf team placed third Tuesday (March 31) at the Flyer Spring Invitational at Bolingbrook Golf Club. In the rain-shortened tournament Lewis shot a 302 (+14) Monday in the opening round and came back with a 146 (+2) Tuesday in nine holes.
Illinois Springfield and Rockhurst tied for first place with each scoring a 447 (+15) for the tournament. The Flyers were just a stroke behind in third place. The Flyers had a B team competing and they took 12
th place with a 472 total. The individual title went to Ashton Vinton, who was the only player under par for the tournament. He carded a 70 (-2) Monday and had a 37 (+1) Tuesday for a 107 (-1) total. Jake Baldin of Illinois Springfield was second with a 109, while Lewis'
Jann Atendido (Bensenville, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) tied with Ivan Bravo of William Jewell for third with a 110.
