Round One Results (pdf)Noblesville, Ind. – The Lewis University men's golf team battled windy conditions on Sunday (April 13) as they finished tied for sixth with a team total of 300 at the Midwest Regional No. 4, playing at the par-72, 7,286-yard course at Purgatory Golf Club. The Flyers are tied with Maryville and tournament-host Indianapolis after one round.
Missouri-St. Louis and Wayne State leads the 30-team field with a first-round score of 294.
Lewis junior
Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) leads the Flyers with a one-over-par 73 while sophomore
Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) shot a 75.
Sophomore
Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington) and junior
Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) both tuned in a first-round 76 while junior
Anthony Lodovico (Homer Glen, Ill. /Lockport Township) rounded out the Flyers with a 79.
"Ryan played excellent golf today under very tough conditions to lead the team's solid effort," Lewis head men's golf coach
Skip Steffey said. "All the guys battled the whole day to give us an opportunity tomorrow to lock up a spot in the NCAA Super-Regional in May.
"We just need another top-6 finish and we should be in."
The Flyers return to the Purgatory Golf Club for a 10 AM shotgun start.
