Complete Results (pdf)Noblesville, Ind. – The Lewis University men's golf team turned in a team total of 606 (300-306) to finish in fifth-place at the Midwest Regional No. 4 after playing the par-72, 7,268-yard course at the Purgatory Golf Club on Monday (April 14)..
Wayne State took home the team title at the Indianapolis-hosted, 30-team tournament with a score of 596 (294-302). Missouri-St. Louis' Warren Crow won the individual title, posting a score of 144 (70-74).
"It was a solid day of golf by the whole team," Lewis head men's golf coach
Skip Steffey said. "They battled through rain and a 20-degree drop in the temperature and still played well."
Lewis junior
Ryan Frederick (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) paced the Flyers with a two-round total of 149 (73-76) to finish tied for eighth.
Sophomore
Alex Thode (Washington, Iowa/Washington) tallied a 152 (76-76) while classmate
Robert Dofflemyer III (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) was just a shot off of his pace, turning in a score of 153 (75-78).
Junior
Anthony Lodovico (Homer Glen, Ill. /Lockport Township) posted a 155 (79-76) while classmate
Jeremy Fraser (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) shot a 156 (76-80) to round out the Flyers.
The Flyers return the links to compete in the 2014 Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship, beginning on Sunday (April 20) at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio.
