Kearney, Neb. - The No. 15 Lewis University men's track and field team dominated the heptathlon at the Charlie Foster Classic, hosted by Nebraska Kearney, as they took three of the top four places, including a school-record first place showing by sophomore
Bryce Holesinger (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) on Saturday (Dec. 12) afternoon. All three top four finishers earned NCAA Provisional marks.
Holesinger finished with 4,985 points, breaking the previous school-record of 4,823, set by teammate
Jared Harkness (Elmwood, Ill./Elmwood) in 2014. Senior
Dan Lentz (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) was third in the event with 4,855 points, while Harkness finished fourth (4,732).
"I thought it was a great performance by all three student-athletes who competed in a great field," Lewis head men's track and field coach
Dana Schwarting said.
Lewis returns to action on January 8th, as they host the Lewis Open at 4 PM in the Recreation Center Fieldhouse.
