Cape Girardeau, Mo. – The Flyers turned in an impressive weekend at the Joey Haines Invitational, recording four top-10 NCAA performances while battling rainy and chilly conditions.
In the field events,
Abraham Christian (Huntley, Ill./Huntley HS) delivered a record-breaking performance in the high jump, clearing 2.14 meters to set a new school record and move to #3 in the NCAA.
Levi Graham (Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) followed with a record-breaking mark of 65.99 meters in the hammer throw, setting a new school record and placing him #5 nationally.
On the women's side,
Denise Hernandez (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) had a standout meet in the horizontal jumps, reaching 6.08 meters in the long jump to rank #5 in the NCAA, while also recording a 12.13 meter mark in the triple jump to sit #10 nationally.
The Flyers produced numerous personal records and added several strong GLVC qualifying marks, continuing to build momentum early in the outdoor season.
