CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -
Victor Tarin (Godelleta, Valencia, Spain/IES Conselleria) recorded a new school record, conference meet record and NCAA B cut in the 500 free with his first place time of 4:25.19 on Thursday (Feb. 12) during day two of the 2015 Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Championships for No. 19 Lewis men's swimming.
Tarin's time broke his own GLVC and pool record of 4:25.49 he set last year at the conference championships. Tarin was followed closely by teammate
Aidan Brennan (Naples, Fla. /Barron Collier). The sophomore notched a personal best time of 4:27.37 in a third place performance.
Junior
Matt Bacinich (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) had a 13
th place swim in the 50 freestyle (21.02).
Sophomore
Bryan Wiener (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein), junior
Tommy Cornes (Napa, Cali./Vintage), Brennan and Bacinich combined to swim the 200 free relay in 1:22.16, good for fourth.
"We had some very good swims," Lewis head coach
Roger Karns said. "The meet is incredibly fast and the competition is very intense."
Lewis concludes day two in fourth place with 205 points.
The Flyers will be back in action on Friday (Feb. 13) in the third day of the GLVC Championships at Crawfordsville High School.
