Maryville, Mo. -
Lewis University junior Dan Lentz (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) notched a career-high and a NCAA Provisional third-place finish of 6,343 points at the Herschel Neil Decathlon, hosted by Northwest Missouri State, on Sunday (March 29) afternoon.

"Dan scored over 6,000 points for the first time (this weekend) and that was huge for him to get on the nationals list," Lewis head men's track and field coach Dana Schwarting said. "If it weren't for wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour, his score would have been much higher."

Lewis returns to action on Friday (April 3), as the Flyers head to Louisville, Ky., to participate in the Bellarmine Invitational.
