Lawrence, Kan. - Lewis University sophomore
Michael Leet (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he beat his nearest competitor by close to five seconds at the Kansas Men's Track And Field Relays at Rock Chalk Park on Thursday (April 16).
Leet set a NCAA Provisional mark, crossing the finish line in a career-best time of 9:17.93. That time is the fifth-fastest in Lewis history.
"Leet had a much smoother race than his last time out," Lewis head men's track and field coach
Dana Schwarting said. "He ran a second faster and looked a lot more relaxed.
"I think he will continue to drop time and make a push for a NCAA bid."
Lewis returns to Rock Chalk Park on Friday (April 17) for second-day action of the Kansas Relays.
