Ferris State Drops Lewis Men's Tennis, 6-3

Flyers win at No. 1 through No. 3 singles.

The Lewis University men's tennis team was very successful at the top of its singles line-up, but was unable to overcome the rest of Ferris State's team, as the visiting Bulldogs earned the 6-3 regional victory over the host Flyers at the Five Star Tennis Center on Friday (April 2) afternoon.

With the win, Ferris State improves to 12-5 overall, while the Flyers fall to 8-6 on the campaign.

Lewis' Armand Levandi (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) earned the 6-0, 6-4 win over Ferris State's Laurent Galarneau at No. 1 singles, while teammate Erik Aunapuu (Tallinn, Estonia/Audentese Spordigumnaasiumi) beat Vasil Surduk (3-6, 6-4, 10-3) at No. 2 singles. The Flyers picked up their final victory at No. 3 singles where sophomore Mate Srdanovic (Split, Croatia/Graditeljsko-Geodetska Tehnicka) bested Roger Hernandez-Pena, 6-2, 6-2.

Lewis returns to action on Friday (April 3), as the Flyers welcome UIS to the Five Star Tennis Center for a 3 PM first serve.
