LIberty, Mo. - Lewis University senior
Kevin Dorenkamper (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) collected a win and two NCAA Provisional marks to help propel the Flyer men's track and field team to a second-place finish at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by William Jewell, on Saturday (May 2) evening.
Dorenkamper won the 400-meter hurdles with a NCAA Provisional time of 53.3, while chipping in a runner-up finish, career-best and provisional mark of 14.35 in the 110-meter hurdles.
Missouri S&T won the overall title with 174 points, followed by 105 points from the Flyers.
"We had some great performances in many events, but had too many stumbles along the way," Lewis Head Men's Track and Field Coach
Dana Schwarting said. "We left 20-25 points on the track in a number of events, but Missouri S&T really came in and served notice to the rest of the league."

Asher Scott (Fort Wayne, Ind./Snider) set a NCAA Provisional in the 1,500-meter run with a personal-best and second-place mark of 3:49.70, while senior
Robert Sterling (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) pitched in a career-best and runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash (21.8).
Flyer freshman
Bryce Holesinger (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) finished third in the decathlon with a NCAA Provisional and personal best mark of 6,451 points.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (May 9) as they head to Naperville to participate in the Dr. Keeler Invitational, hosted by North Central College.
