Rensselaer, Ind. - The Lewis University softball team exploded for 21 runs in the 10-2 (6 inn.), 11-2 Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader sweep over Saint Joseph's at Puma Field on Saturday (March 26). It is the most runs scored by a Flyer squad in a doubleheader since a 11-4, 10-6 twinbill sweep over Southern Indiana on April 22, 2012.
"I love that it was hard for me to make my line-up card out because we were hitting from top to bottom," Lewis head softball coach
Becky Pearl said. "It was a lot of fun today."
With the sweep, Lewis improves to 15-16 overall and 4-8 in GLVC action, while the Pumas fall to 10-21 on the campaign and 7-5 in conference play.
Lewis returns to action on Tuesday (March 29), as the Flyers head north for a 3 PM GLVC twinbill against UW-Parkside.
