Romeoville, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team came-from-behind in both of its non-conference games, as the Flyers picked up the 7-6, 2-1 doubleheader sweep over Truman State in Lewis' home opener at Brennan Field on Sunday (March 19).
With the sweep, Lewis improves to 3-11 on the campaign, while the Bulldogs drop to 6-12 overall.
Both teams return to action on Monday (March 20), as they will complete their four-game series with a 12 PM doubleheader at Brennan Field.
GAME ONE

Fueled by a pair of two-run home runs by freshman third baseman
Austin Tittle (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and junior designated hitter
Ethan Bloom (Schaumburg, Ill./Hoffman Estates), Lewis rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the fourth-inning to earn the 7-6 non-conference victory over the Bulldogs.Â
Tittle and Bloom combined for five hits, five RBI and two runs. Tittle was 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored a run, while Bloom was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run.
Lewis junior second baseman
Neal Tyrell (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) collected a pair of hits, including a double, in the victory.
Lewis junior reliever
Brady Kostecki (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) allowed one run and struck out one in three innings of work to improve his record to 1-0 on the campaign. Lewis redshirt senior reliever
Nick Davito (Crest Hill, Ill./Lockport) allowed one run in the ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth inning, Tyrell took an offering from Truman reliever Austin Tinsley over the left field wall for the go-ahead two-run homer for the Flyers.

Sam Couch (Bolingbrook, Ill./Joliet Catholic) went the distance to earn the complete-game victory for the Flyers. Couch (2-0) allowed one run and five hits, while fanning five batters.
