Allendale, Mich. - Grand Valley State catcher Connor Glick drove in two runs, including the go-ahead double in the sixth inning, as the Lakers edged the Lewis University baseball team, 2-1, at the GVSU Baseball Field on Wednesday (March 29).
GVSU pitcher Tate Brawley (3-0) earned the win for the Lakers, tossing 2.2 innings of scoreless relief, while striking out four Flyers. Laker closer Matt Williams struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his fifth save of the season.
With the win, Grand Valley State improves to 13-9 on the campaign, while the Flyers fall to 5-17 overall.

Jake Herron (Joliet, Ill./Joliet West) took the loss for the Flyers. Herron (0-1) allowed one run and two hits in two innings of work, while striking out two batters.

Brandon Collins (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Way North) and junior second baseman
Neal Tyrell (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) combined for five of the Flyers' seven hits against Grand Valley State. Collins went 3-for-4 at the dish, while Tyrell went 2-for-4 with a double.
Lewis returns to action on Saturday (April 2), as the Flyers open a four-game series with No. 12 Indianapolis with a 12 PM doubleheader at Brennan Field.
