Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head men's volleyball coach Dan Friend announced on Tuesday (Sept. 19) that former Flyers Jacob Schmiegelt (Lombard, Ill./Willowbrook) and Trevor Weiskircher (Loves Park, Ill./Boylan Catholic) have both signed professional contracts to play volleyball overseas.

Schmiegelt, a 2016 Honorable Mention All-America selection, is playing for Jarvamaa Volleyball Club in Estonia, while Weiskircher, a 2016 Honorable Mention All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association selection, is suiting up for Pamvohaikos Volleyball Club in Greece.

"It's great that Jacob and Trevor are starting their professional careers," Friend said. "They're both talented individuals and I believe they each have an opportunity to make an impact for their teams."

Schmiegelt and Weiskircher are among five former Flyers that are currently playing professionally, including:
