MOLINE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's bowling team completed its first day at the Leatherneck Classic, finishing the day in 34th place among 43 teams at Highland Park Bowl.
The Flyers shot a 5,080 over six traditional games. Robert Morris leads the way with a 6,388, while Wisconsin-Whitewater is in second with a 6,141.
Steve Plane (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) led the way for the Flyers with a 1,168 over six games.
Caleb Kirby (/Lincoln Way West) added a 1,086 and
Matthew Carroll (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle) had a 937, both over six games.
Eric Wesel (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) shot an 886 in five games,
Jawuan Burks (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) had a 596 in four games and
Rey Valdez (/St. Rita) shot a 407 in three games.
Lewis will bowl in Baker games to conclude the Leatherneck Classic Sunday.
