CHICAGO, Ill. – The 25th ranked Lewis men's swimming team won all 11 events in its 141-53 victory at Illinois Tech on Friday evening.
The Flyers opened the evening taking three of the top four spots in the 200 medley relay. The team of
Guillaume Bolivard (Martinique, France/Lycee Centre Sud),
Helio Meggito Pereira (),
Colin Williams (Elk Grove, Ill./Elk Grove) and
Yurii Kharko (Odessa, Ukraine) won the event in a time of 1:36.53. Lewis' team of
Carter Thoss (Orland Park, Ill./Carl Sandburg),
Jared Stigant (Edgemead, Cape Town/South African College Schools), Brandon Buoy and
Thomas Kotel (Lansing, Ill./Thornton Fractional South) took second in a time of 1:40.80 while the team consisting of
Michael Roach (New Market, Maryland/Linganore),
Sumner Latta (Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh North),
Erik Fosen (/) and
Jack Tegeder (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine) took fourth finishing in a time of 1:47.47.
Jackson Mugg (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne East) and Roach finished first and second in the 1000 freestyle with times of 10:03.83 and 10:26.31 respectively.
Brock Star (Grandville, Mich./Grandville) and Williams finished first and second in the 200 freestyle with times of 1:47.44 and 1:48.91 respectively.
Kharko, Bolivard and Stigant took the top three spots in the 50 freestyle. Kharko won the event with a time of 21.24 while Bolivard touched the wall at 21.64 and Stigant finished at 22.28 seconds.
Jeremy Burbrink (Goshen, Ind./Northridge),
Jesse Drake (Goshen, Ind./Northridge) and Pereira went 1-2-3 in the 400 individual medley with times of 4:22.96, 4:26.99 and 4:31.34 respectively.
The Flyers took four of the top five spots in the 100 butterfly with Thoss winning the event in a time of 53.15.
In the 100 freestyle Lewis got top three finishes from Stigant, Star and Kotel. Stigant touched the wall first in a time of 48.05.
Bolivard won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 5:18.24 while Mugg picked up his second event win of the night winning the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:54.64. Pereira won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.97 and the 200 freestyle relay team of Kharko, Mugg, Williams and Star took first in a time of 1:28.78
The Flyers return to the pool next Friday (Jan. 18) when they take on Olivet Nazarene and the University of Chicago in a tri-meet at the University of Chicago beginning at 6 p.m.
