Lewis Men’s Tennis Downs Walsh, 6-1

PLAINFIELD, Ill. – Lewis' men's tennis team snapped a two-match losing streak by defeating Walsh 6-1 on Saturday evening at Five Star Tennis Center in Plainfield, Ill. The Flyers improve to 3-3 on the season while the Cavaliers drop to 1-8.

Lewis won all three doubles matches to earn the point. Alan Braschinsky (Tallinn, Estonia/Milna Harma) and Oskar Lusti (Tallinn, Estonia/) defeated Dawson Drummond and Alex Medina 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. David Ambrozic (Portoroz, Slovenia) and Brendan Peterson (Elmhurst, Ill./York) combined to defeat Filipp Fulyncyh and Clemens Wagner 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. Pedja Trifunovic and Anton Levitin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove) defeated Tim Bruin and Joao Campos at No. 3 doubles 6-3.

The Flyers won five of the six singles matches as well. Braschinsky rallied to defeat Jakob Riglewskik in three sets. Braschinsky dropped the opening set 6-4 but won the next two 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. In No. 2 singles play, Lusti defeated Kulynych in straight sets 6-4, 6-4. Ambrozic defeated Drummond 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. In No. 4 singles action, Chandler Stimpert (Graceland, Ill./Morton) beat Medina 6-3, 6-2. Peterson took care of Guilherme Carneiro 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Benjamin Kasbeer (Lake Forest, Ill./Deerfield) dropped his match at No. 6 singles to Pedro Campos 6-4, 6-4.

The Flyers return to the courts on Monday, March 18 taking on Midland at 12 p.m.
