COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Lewis University men's golf team finished in ninth place Monday at the Parkside Spring Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Club. The Flyers finished with a two-day total of 615 (+39), shooting rounds of 306 and 309.
Bellarmine won the tournament, firing rounds of 295 and 292 to finish with a 587 (+11), while Indianapolis was second with rounds of 299 and 291 (+14).
Leading the way for Lewis was
Braden Bentley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge), who finished in a tie for seventh place with rounds of 72 and 76 for a 148 total (+4). Also scoring for the Flyers were
Trey Tussey (LaSalle, Ill.)Â with a 76-77-153,
Cole Elmore (Salina, Kan.) with a 78-76-154 and
Hunter Pipik (New Berlin, Wisc./New Berlin West)Â with an 80-80-160.
Aser Ruiz (The Woodlands, Texas) added an 82-82-164. Competing individually for Lewis were
Matthew Hardin (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) (77-73-150, T-17),
Colin Borowiak (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood)Â (87-79-166) and
Jake Pluth (Shorewood, Ill.)Â (83-84-167).
James Inman of Bellarmine won the individual title with rounds of 71 and 72 for a 143 (-1), while Austin Alexander of Wayne State was second with rounds of 76 and 68 for a 144 (E).
Lewis returns to the links Sunday (April 7) for the Greyhound Invitational at Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Ind.
