Lewis Men’s Golf Wins UIS Spring Invite

Hunter Pipik wins medalist honors

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' men's golf team won the Illinois Springfield on Saturday at Piper Glen Golf Course in Springfield, Ill. The two day event was shortened to one day due to the inclement weather in forecast for round two.

The Flyers finished with a score of 288 and had three players finish in the top five. Hunter Pipik (New Berlin, Wisc./New Berlin West) won medalist honors shooting a 68. Cole Elmore (Salina, Kan.) finished tied for third at 72 while Trey Tussey (LaSalle, Ill.) was fifth with a 73. Braden Bentley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) tied for ninth with a 75 and Jimmy Roach (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) shot an 86.

Lewis returns to the course on Sunday (April 21) for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.
