ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis' men's swimming team returned with a dominant performance in a 135-59 win over Olivet Nazarene on Friday evening at the Lewis Swimming Pool. It was the first outside competition for the Flyers since last October due to COVID related issues.
Lewis (2-1) won all 11 events against the Tigers in the dual including both. The Flyers were victorious in both relays. The team of freshman

Ethan Fox (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield Central) combined for a time of 1:30.11 in the 200 free relay.
In the first event of the evening, junior
Ari Kissel (Berlin, Germany/), freshman
Matthew Senese (Joliet, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central), senior
Ruben van Leeuwen (Eindhoven, The Netherlands/CIU/Christelyk Lyceum Veenendaal) and Fox combined to win the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:35.78.
Junior
Jackson Mugg (Cheyenne, Wyoming/Cheyenne East) and Rolfsen finished first and second in the 1,000 freestyle with times of 10:02.32 and 10:22.20 respectively. Junior
Rhys Taylor (Nottingham, England/National C of E Academy) and sophomore
Adrian Wlodarz (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) went first and third in the 200 free. Taylor touched the wall at 1:45.30 while Wlodarz finished at 1:52.25.
van Leeuwen, Smith and Fosen finished first, third and sixth in the 50 free. van Leeuwen won by over second with a time of 21.35 seconds. Smith finished at 22.86 seconds and Fosen recorded a time of 23.31 seconds. Kissel, Mugg and Senese went one, second, four in the 200 individual medley. Kissel finished at 1:55.64 and was followed by Mugg at 2:00.75 and Senese came in at 2:05.17.
van Leeuwen picked up his second individual event win of the evening in the 100 fly in a time of 52.30 seconds. Taylor was third with a time of 53.06 seconds and Fosen was seventh in a time of 59.07 seconds.
Wlodarz and Smith finished and first and second with times of 49.23 seconds and 49.69 seconds respectively in the 100 freestyle. Kissel and Fox finished first and third in the 100 back with times of 53.08 seconds and 55.39 seconds.
Mugg and Rolfsen went first and third in the 500 freestyle as Mugg chased down Mason Beall to win the race by more than two seconds at 4:49.38. Rolfsen had a time of 5:00.09 in the event. Taylor, Wlodarz and Senese finished first, fourth and fifth in the 100 breaststroke. Taylor had a time of 58.28 seconds while Wlodarz was 1:02.38 and Senese came in at 1:02.64.
Lewis is back in action on Friday (Jan. 22) in a dual against Maryville at the Lewis Swimming Pool beginning at 4:30 p.m.
