Juliana Van Loo (Burbank, Calif./John Burroughs) has been selected as the Baden GLVC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 10.
This is the first career GLVC Player of the Week award for Van Loo and she is the third Flyer to win the award this season joining fifth year senior middle hitter
Ava Venema (Westmont, Ill./Timothy Christian) (Sept. 6) and sophomore outside hitter
Natalie Stefanski (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet West) (Sept. 19).
Van Loo reached double figures in kills in all three matches last week. She opened the week with a career-high 21 kills while hitting .378 in the come from behind five-set win against Illinois Springfield last Tuesday. Van Loo recorded 15 of those kills in sets one, three and four against the Prairie Stars. She also had three total blocks and two digs.
Van Loo followed it up by matching her career-high with 21 kills while hitting .400 at Drury last Friday. She had four kills apiece in sets one through three and then had six kills against no errors in eight swings in the fourth set. Van Loo also added three blocks and three digs against the Panthers.
Van Loo capped the week with 16 kills against two errors in 26 chances finishing the match with a .538 attack percentage. She had six kills apiece in sets two and three and also recorded three blocks.
For the season she's averaging 2.82 kills per set while hitting .384.
Lewis is back in action this weekend taking part in the 13th annual Midwest Region Crossover at the Hammond Sportsplex in Hammond, Ind.
