BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Lewis University's men's and women's track and field teams opened their 2021 season recording four top two finishes and achieved two provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at the Tiger Quad-Meet in
Bourbonnais, Ill.
On the women's side,
Anna Laudizio (Plainfield, Ill., Plainfield North, University of Dayton) won the triple jump with a leap of 11.81 meters (38.75 feet) and earned a provisional qualifying mark to the national meet.
Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill., Kenwood Academy, ) took top spot in the 60 meter dash finishing with a time of 7.66 seconds which was also a provisional qualifying mark.
Natasha Bernett (McAlpin, Ill., Lane Tech, ) won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.95 seconds while
Aliza Van Den Elzen (Hortonville, Wis., Hortonville, ) finished fifth in the race with a time of 10.01 seconds.
On the men's side,
Connor Wagner (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central) finished second in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.36 seconds.
The Flyers return to the track the weekend of Feb. 26-27 as they travel to Hickory, N.C., to compete in an invitational hosted by
Lenoir-Rhyne University.
