NEW ORLEANS – Lewis University's women's track and field team is ranked fourth in NCAA Division II in the first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Rating Index.
The USTFCCCA ratings summary is determined by points accumulated by individual athletes and their respective places on the national best list. Individual points are then added up to form a team score. This week, the Flyers totaled 164.55 points in the ratings.
Lewis has eight individuals and one relay ranked in this week's top 10 and another four individuals and a relay ranked in the top 25
.
Grace Harris (Dousman, Wis./Homeschooled) is ranked number one in Division II in the 400 meters with a time of 55.02 which she achieved at Lenoir-Rhyne on Feb. 26. Harris is also ranked 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.62 seconds.
Natasha Bernett (McAlpin, Ill./Lane Tech) is ranked second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.09 seconds and is 18th nationally in the 400 meter hurdles at 1:03.90.
The Flyer 4x100 meter relay team of Harris,
Jada Hoffman (Chicago, Ill./Kenwood Academy),
Allison Heinzer (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland HS) and
Rachael Ramon (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) is ranked third in the event with a time of 46.34 seconds.
Kylie Wymer (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) is fourth on national list in the shot put with a mark of 14.15 meters (46-5 1/4) which she recorded at Olivet Nazarene on March 20.
Hoffman is ranked sixth and seventh in the 100 and 200 meters. Her time of 11.87 seconds is sixth best in Division II in the 100 while her time of 24.48 seconds in the 200 is currently seventh fastest.
Heinzer is ranked just ahead of Hoffman in the 200 at six with a season best time of 24.26 seconds and is also ranked 24th in the 400 meters with a time of 57.34 seconds.
Alecea Cardillo (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) is seventh in the triple jump at 12.30 meters (40-4 1/4).
Anna Laudizio (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) is eighth in the long jump at 5.83 meters (19-1 1/2) and 11th in the triple jump at 12.09 meters (39-8).
Arianna Amill-Ramos (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) is 10th in the country in the steeplechase with a time of 11:34.34.
The Flyers return to the track this weekend as they'll be sending athletes to the McKendree Bearcat Classic on Friday and the SBU Bearcat Classic on Friday and Saturday.
