ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Lewis University's women's soccer team concludes it's a three-game road swing as it travels to Springfield, Ill., on Friday evening to take on Illinois Springfield at 5 p.m. The Flyers enter Friday's contest with a record of 4-1-2, 2-1-2 GLVC while the Prairie Stars are 5-2-1, 3-2 GLVC.
Lewis looks to snap two-game winless streak after going 0-1-1 last weekend with a 2-1 loss at Indianapolis this past Friday and a scoreless draw at Southern Indiana on Sunday afternoon.
GLVC Leaders – Fifth-year senior forward
Cali Havelka-Vanderplow (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale South) is currently ranked tied for fifth in points per game with 1.14, assists with two and is tied for sixth in goals with three. Senior goalkeeper
Lucy Clark (Bristol, England) is third in the conference in goals against average (0.67), tied for sixth in save percentage at 80 percent and is tied for 10th with 20 saves.
Rankings – The Flyers fell a spot in this week's United Soccer Coaches Midwest Regional rankings to seventh. They're one of four GLVC teams ranked in this week's top 10. Indianapolis checks in at three, McKendree is fifth and Drury is eighth.
About Illinois Springfield – UIS split its two matches last weekend picking up a 2-1 win at Southern Indiana last Friday and then fell to McKendree 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Sierra Cenek leads the team in scoring with four goals and one assist for a total of nine points while Allison Hackett has two goals and two assists for six points and Abby Dellamorte, Madison Grandys ad Claire Sever are tied for third on the squad with four points.
Allison Mirimanian has played every minute in goal for the Prairie Stars and has a goals against average of 0.97 and has made 45 saves.
Series History – Lewis leads the all-time series against UIS 7-2-3 but the two sides have split the last four meetings. This past spring the Flyers defeated the Prairie Stars 1-0 on a goal from
Cameron Sengstock (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South). Lewis is 1-1-3 all-time in matches played at UIS.
