SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Lewis University men's soccer team dropped a Great Lakes Valley Conference matchup against Drury, 1-0, Sunday (Oct. 23).

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Drury 1, Lewis 0

• Arturs Gorodnickis (Riga, Latvia/Riga) looked to put the Flyers on the scoreboard in 22nd minute but his shot was off target. 
• Drury was able to find the back of the net in the 26th minute to make it 1-0 but that would be the lone goal of the match.
• Perez tried to tie it in the 36th minute but his shot was missed. 
• Jose Mendoza (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) wanted to knot it up at 1-all in the 39th minute but the shot attempt was off target. 
• Towards the end of the first half, Jesus Meza (Glendale Heights, Ill./) got off a shot attempt but it went high. 

Second Half: Lewis 0, Drury 0

• Drury started the second half aggressive, looking to quickly double the lead 12 seconds into the half but Doppelhofer recorded the save. 
• Perez recorded a pair of shots in the 47th and 49th minute but they were off target. 
• Stefan Ziermann (Vienna, Austria/University of Economics) looked to knot it up but his shot was also off target.
• Stampley recorded back-to-back shots on goal in the 60th minute but the Drury goalkeeper saved both.
• The Panthers picked up a pair of shot attempts looking to double the lead in the 72nd and 73rd minute but they were off target.
• Gorodnickis had his second shot attempt of the match in the 77th minute but it was off target.
• Charles Carlback (Karlskrona, Sweden/FK Karlskrona) had a shot on goal moments later but it was saved by the goalkeeper.
• Maxiliano Ibarra (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield East) checked into the game and looked to tie it up but it was off target.
• Late in the match during the 89th minute, Perez went on the attack and tried to tie it but it was saved.
