SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Lewis University women's golf team tied for third Saturday (April 16) at the Pilot Spring Invitational at Blackthorn Golf Club. The Flyers posted a two-day total of 652 (+76).
Lewis shot a 329 on the first day and followed with a 323 on the final round Saturday. Taylor University won the tournament with a 641, while Illinois Wesleyan was second with a 642 and Carthage tied Lewis for third.
Kasey Kane (Texarkana, Tex./Texarkana) led Lewis with rounds of 77 and 79 for a 156 total to tie for fourth.
Kendall Farm (Carol Stream, Ill./West Chicago) had rounds of 80 and 78 for a 158 (T-8), while
Caiya Dewitt (Zeeland, Mich./West Ottawa) had a pair of 83s for a 166,
Molly St. Clair (Evansville, Ind./Evansville Central) had a 93 and an 83 for a 176 and
Morgan McNulty (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) had a pair of 89s for a 178.
Nicole Jung of Taylor won the tournament with rounds of 72 and 78 for a 150 total (+6), while Kate Munro of Carthage finished second with a 152 (+8) and Emma Thorman of Illinois Wesleyan placed third with a 155 (+11).
The Flyers will compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships beginning Friday, April 22 at Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Ill.
