Men's Lacrosse Announces Hiring of Two New Coaches

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- Lewis University Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Joe Perruzzi has announced the hiring of two new assistant coaches to the program for this season. Evan Kilbane and Brendan Kearney join the staff.

"I am really excited about bringing back Brendan Kearney and adding Evan Kilbane to our coaching staff at Lewis," Perruzzi said. "With Coach Kearney spending the past year at Marquette under Coach Stimmel, he has acquired a wealth of knowledge that has immediately impacted our defense and our entire program. Coach Kilbane has already made a significant impact in our Goalie's technique and development and he will bring even more energy to the defensive side of the ball. I am thrilled to work alongside such knowledgeable coaches that share the same commitment and passion that I do for our young men and their growth."

Kilbane comes to Lewis University after spending time at Benedictine University as the goalie coach and defensive coordinator last season. Prior to being on the sidelines for the Eagles, Kilbane was the starting goalie for Benedictine from 2019-2021, leading the team to a 29-8 record in two seasons.

Prior to his time at Benedictine, Kilbane was a four-year varsity starter and an all-conference goalie every season for Wheaton-Warrenville South High School.

Kearney returns to Lewis as defensive coordinator after spending last year at Marquette University as their Director of Lacrosse Operations. Prior to Marquette, Kearney was a defensive assistant at Lewis from 2018-2021, helping build the program in their inaugural year.

During his time at Lewis, he was the director of 1223 Lacrosse Club from 2019-2020 where he organized club lacrosse activities for high school lacrosse players and helped them with the recruiting process. Prior to his time at Lewis, Kearney was co-captain of the club lacrosse team at Holy Cross College and was eventually named coach in 2015.
