INDIANAPOLIS -- The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced on Friday (Feb. 24) its 2022-23 Fall Scholar Athletes of the Year as sophomore
Charlie Wirth (Greenville, Wis./Hortonville) was the recipient of the men's cross country award.
Wirth led the Flyers to a runner-up team finish at the GLVC Championships after placing fourth, which garnered him All-Conference honors.
The sophomore also earned All-Midwest Region honors after placing 12th in the NCAA Midwest Regionals, which helped Lewis secure a birth in the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Wirth finished in 147th place during his first-ever NCAA Championship race.
During the fall semester in which he competed, Wirth achieved a 3.94 GPA and currently owns a 3.82 cumulative GPA, which also helped him become an USTFCCCA Academic All-American.
