Kenosha, Wis. - Lewis University men's cross country runner
Evan Horgan (Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) capped his impressive 2025 campaign by earning All-American accolades and a top-10 finish at nationals while as a team, the Flyers placed 12th at NCAA Nationals Saturday morning at the UW-Parkside Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course.
Kidus Begashaw of Adams State captured the indiviudual national title with a final time of 29:38.8 while Wingate secured the team title with 62 points.Â
Horgan placed seventh overall with a final time of 29.53.8 to earn All-American accolades for the second consecutive year. It also marked his first top-10 finish at nationals in his collegiate career as well.
Zack Dunn (Merrilville, Ind./Merrilville) finished 77th for Lewis (31:16.4) while
Jack Roberts (Frankfort, Ill./Lincolnway East) landed in 113th (31:48.9) to round out the top three Lewis runners. Close behind Roberts was
Gabriel Cates (Purcellville, Vir./Loudoun Valley) (117th) with a final time of 31:54.1.
Brendon Shea (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) turned in a final time of 32:07.3 (137th) to close out the Flyers scoring runners.
Owen Thomas (Valparaiso, IN/Morgan Township) (32:13.7) and
Nick Paugys (Minooka, Ill./Minooka) (32:28.2)Â also competed for Lewis at the NCAA Nationals and helped displace other schools racing to assist with Lewis' 12th place finish with 390 points.Â
