Lewis Men’s Soccer Nets No. 5 seed; Set to Travel to Tiffin for NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced the qualifiers for the 2024 NCAA DII Men's Soccer Tournament and that the Lewis men's soccer team will be competing in its fourth straight NCAA Tournament after clinching the Great Lakes Valley Conference automatic bid by winning the GLVC Tournament Championship. The Flyers will be the fifth seed and travel to take on No. 4 seed Tiffin in Tiffin, Ohio on Sunday, November 24 at 12 p.m. CT.

The Flyers went 11-2-8 this season and are coming off winning the GLVC Tournament Championship where they advanced on penalty kicks against No. 2 seed Maryville Sunday (November 17) 1-1 (5-4). These two programs have never met. 

The Dragons went 13-5-1 in 2024 and are coming off a loss in the G-MAC Tournament Semifinals against Kentucky Wesleyan.

Top-seed Saginaw Valley State (12-5-1) will host and get the winner of eight seed Southern Nazarene (12-4-4) and nine seed Rogers State (8-5-6) while the winner of that will take on the winner of Lewis/Tiffin in the third round on Sunday, December 1. 

Two seed McKendree (12-0-7) will host seven seed Davenport (9-7-4) and 10 seed Fort Hays State (12-3-4). The Bearcats will get the winner of that matchup in the second round. The winner of that second round matchup will take on the winner of three seed Maryville (12-4-6) and six seed Findlay (11-3-5).

Quarterfinals: Saturday, Dec. 7
Semifinals: Thursday, Dec. 12 | 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. ET on NCAA.com
National championship: Saturday, Dec. 14 | 3 p.m. ET on NCAA.com

In this single-elimination tournament, 10 teams are selected by the Men's Soccer Committee from each of the four super-regions to make up the 40-team field. The champions of 19 conferences are granted Automatic Qualification while the remaining teams will be selected at-large by the Men's Soccer Committee.

The tournament continues through the national championship game on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C.
