Lewis Places Fifth at Flyer Intercollegiate

Lemont, Ill.- The Lewis University men's golf team hosted their home tournament this week at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club on Monday (Oct. 6) and Tuesday (Oct. 7). The tournament consisted of 54 holes with 36 played on day one and 18 on day two. Senior, Ty Doty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) and junior, Jann Atendido (Bensenville, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) were the top finishers for the Flyers coming in 15th place.
 
Doty's first round was his best, shooting two over (74) and played the back nine at one under. Atendido had eight straight pars in his second round and finished at three over (75). Trine's Garrett James took first place individually, winning a sudden death playoff hole, and shooting a total of five over across the 54 holes. UW-Parkside took home the team victory shooting 36 over, while Lewis finished in fifth shooting a total of 69 over.

The Flyers will compete at the Panther Invitational at Stonehenge North Golf Club later this week from Oct. 11-12 in Augusta, Mich.
