Flyers Shine at the Notre Dame Invite

HOW IT HAPPENED IN SOUTH BEND

Competing on one of the Midwest's premier indoor stages, Lewis delivered a statement performance at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Indiana on January 24, 2026.

The men's weight throw set the tone early, as Levi Graham (Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) delivered another NCAA-level performance, winning the event with a mark of 21.63 meters. On the women's side, Aubrey Brinkman (Mapleton, Ill./Illini Bluffs HS) recorded a personal best of 16.98 meters, placing fourth and achieving an NCAA qualifying mark.

Lewis dominated the men's jumps, sweeping the top three spots in the long jump. Abraham Christian (Huntley, Ill./Huntley HS) claimed first at 6.57 meters, followed closely by Cody Machlet (Roselle, Ill./Geneva Community HS) in second (6.56m) and Jayden Washington in third (6.46m). Machlet added another victory in the triple jump, winning with a leap of 14.35 meters. Christian also earned a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 2.06 meters.

The women's jumps continued to shine as Karmen Kurowicka (Itasca, Ill./Lake Park HS) won the high jump with a clearance of 1.66 meters. In the pole vault, Brynlee Keeran (Catlin, Ill./Catlin HS) captured first place with a vault of 3.75 meters, meeting the NCAA qualifying standard.

On the track, Cagini Pilgrim led the men's sprint group with a second-place finish in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 22.21. In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Brian Holmes (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS) placed second with a time of 8.23.

The Flyers closed strong in the men's 4x400-meter relay, as Cagini Pilgrim, Kamari Rush, Brian Holmes (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North HS), and Adrien Manning (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) combined for a second-place finish in 3:18.96.

For the women, Rebecca Cravedi (Piacenza, Italy/) had a standout day, placing third in the 60-meter finals (7.73) and finishing second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.04.

The distance crew also produced solid results, led by Mary Edwards (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central), who had a great day in both the 800 meters and the mile. Edwards finished ninth in the women's 800 meters (2:16.51) and 17th in the mile (4:57.44). On the men's side, Jack Roberts (Frankfort, Ill./Lincolnway East) placed sixth in the men's 3000 meters with a time of 8:31.52, capping a productive day on the track.
