Indianapolis, Ind. – The Lewis University men's lacrosse team was tabbed second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Lacrosse Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league office announced Thursday morning.
Defending tournament champions Maryville topped the poll with 25 points and five first-place votes while Lewis came in second with 19 points and the remaining first-place vote. Rockhurst tied the Flyers with 19 points but did not receive a first-place vote. UIndy (13), Quincy (9) and William Jewell (5) made up the remainder of the poll.
USILA All-South Region honorable mention
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) returns for Lewis after leading the team in goals (50), assists (25) and points (75). All-GLVC Honorable Mention
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) also returns to the Flyers after ending last year with 35 goals and 45 total points. On the defensive side of the ball,
Dylan Kendrick (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) is back after ranking second on the squad in ground balls along with All-GLVC Honorable Mention
Logan Suchy (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) who paced the Flyers with a team-best 27 caused turnovers. In net, fellow All-GLVC Honorable Mention
Caden Donahue (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS) returns after tallying 12 wins and 177 total saves.
Back on the sideline for the Flyers is Joe Perrruzzi who enters his seventh season in charge of the red and white. Under Perruzzi in 2025, the Flyers won 12 games and were ranked No. 13 in the nation entering the postseason. The Flyers also had a pair of consensus All-Americans in
Domenic Tarello (Libertyville, Illinois/Libertyville HS) and
Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, Minnesota/Totino-Grace HS) as well.
The Flyers begin their season this Friday with a neutral site contest against Northwood. Opening face-off is set for 2 p.m. eastern with the game streaming on the GLVC Network.
