Men's Track and Field Tabbed 19th Nationally by USTFCCCA

New Orleans, La. - The Lewis University men's track and field team was ranked 19th in the USTFCCCA Checkpoint #3 Poll, the organization announced Tuesday morning. 
 
The Flyers are one of three GLVC teams in the top-25 alongside UIndy (9) and Missouri S&T (11). Overall, the Midwest region had nine team respresented in the top-25 as well. 

This past weekend for the Flyers at Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis, Levi Graham captured first place with an NCAA mark of 21.28 meters, while Ben Saucedo followed closely in third, also reaching the NCAA standard with a throw of 18.36 meters. In the vertical jumps, Neil Erasmus earned an NCAA performance in the men's pole vault, finishing fourth with a clearance of 4.82 meters. On the track, the Flyers delivered multiple highlight performances. Evan Horgan took the spotlight in the men's mile, winning the event in a school-record time of 4:04.08. Cagini Pilgrim added a personal best in the men's 200 meters, clocking 22.01 seconds. 

The Flyers will travel split squad around the country this weekend as the members of the team will head to the GVSU Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, Valentine Invitate at Boston University or the Chicagoland Championships.
