Women's Golf Selected Third in GLVC Preseason Coaches' Poll

Indianapolis, Ind - Lewis University came up third in GLVC Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll after receiving 122 points. The preseason poll is selected by the league's head coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own team.

The Flyers fell behind number two Missouri - St. Louis with 135 points and three first place votes, and number one. Indianapolis with 139 points and 10 first place votes.

Lewis is led by head coach Greg Baresel who is heading into his third year in charge of the Flyers. Clippd Rankings saw the Flyers rank number 56 across DII programs and number 10 in the entire east region.

Heading into the spring season, the Flyers women's team came from a dominant end to their fall campaign, after winning the Flyer Fall Intercollegiate, Panther Invitational and Bearcat Dual Gender, making the three straight tournament win a first under coach Baresel. Great Lakes Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week Kendall Farm (Carol Stream, Ill./West Chicago) secured her first tournament win this past fall at Bearcat Dual Gender tournament after Farm's 78, 72, 73 shooting performance, while  Sophia Lawler (Racine, Wis./Prairie), secured the win at the Flyer Fall Intercollegiate. Lewis' record setting in 18-hole, 16, and 54-hole scoring this season, along with a historic top-10 regional ranking, sets the Flyers in a good direction heading into the Spring 2026 season.

The Lewis University Women's Golf team will be in action next in a little over a month, when they head to Pawleys Island, SC, to make their season debut at the Pawley's Island Invitational from March 9 (Mon) - March 10 (Tue).
