Perruzzi Named Co-Coach of the Year, 11 Flyers Earn All-GLVC Accolades

Indianapolis, Ind. - After leading the Lewis University men's lacrosse team to one of its best seasons in program history, head coach Joe Perruzzi was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Co-Coach of the Year while 11 different Flyers collected All-GLVC honors, the league office announced Thursday morning. 

Perruzzi was tabbed the co-coach of the year alongside Rockhurst's Kevin Kelley. It is the second time Perruzzi was named the leagues top coach as he previously earned GLVC Coach of the Year accolades back in 2024. On the player side, Carter Korzenski (Orchard Park, N.Y./Limestone), Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS), Kohl Wesner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and Tyler Davis (Edina, Minnesota/Edina HS) were all named to the first team. Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) and Michael Trbovich (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman HS) each landed on the second team while Caden Donahue (Hugo, Minnesota/Mahtomedi HS), Zach Ottolino (Lockport, Illinois/Lockport Township HS), Camden Rappis (Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine HS), Braylon Ray (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) and Logan Suchy (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) earned All-GLVC Honorable Mention. 

With Perruzzi on the sideline, the Flyers posted an 11-3 record with four ranked wins while earning GLVC Co-Regular Season Champions accolades to host the leagues men's lacrosse championship. Under Perruzzi's tutelage this season, 10 different players have earned either USILA or GLVC Player of the Week accolades. Within the GLVC, the Flyers had a played named offensive or defensive player of the week 10 times, the most of any school this season. Additionally, the red and whites six appearances on the USILA Team of the Week are the most of any conference school as well. The Flyers were nearly perfect at home for the as they only lost one regular season home contest for the second consecutive year. 

The team leader in goals with 47 and points with 65, Ruskoski garnered first team accolades. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native set a new program record for goals in a game with nine against Walsh (Feb. 7) while scoring at least three goals in eight contests this season. The senior earned GLVC Offensive Player of the Week accolades after his record performance as well that same week. His 47 goals nad 65 points both ended the regular season ranked within the top five of the GLVC. On the defensive side of the ball, Ruskoski snagged 16 ground balls, highlighted by a career-high six against Walsh (Feb.7). His 16 ground balls are currently one shy of his career-high in a single season as well. 

A USILA Preseason All-American, Korzenski landed GLVC FIrst Team accolades after ranking second on the Flyers and top-10 in the GLVC for goals (36), points (56) and assists (20). The Orchard Park, New York, native scored in every game he appeared in this season, underscored by a six goal performance against nationally ranked Lynn (March 7). The former two-time GLVC Offensive Player of the Week also recorded eight points in a game on two occasions, accomplishing the feat against Northwood (Jan. 30) and then receiving votes UIndy (April 4). 

A fellow midfielder alongside Korzenski, Wesner ended the year with 32 goals and 44 points, both of which ranked within the top-five of the Flyers. The senior midfielder earned GLVC Offensive Player of the Week accolades on Feb. 23 after he posted eight total points (7G, 1A) while adding in two ground balls across two games. Wesner began the week with two goals and an assist to aid in the Flyers 12-6 win over Davenport. He followed that with a season-high five goals against No. 12 Newberry and collected two ground balls as well. In his 12 games, Wesner had at least two goals in all but two games this season. 

A fellow USILA Preseason All-American, Davis collected first team honors after ending the regular season as the team leader and ranked within the top five of the GLVC in caused turnovers with 24. The Edina, Minnesota, native caused at least one turnovers in every contest he appeared in except one and had multiple ground balls in 11 games. The junior defender collected a career-high eight ground balls against Rollins (March 14) and had a season-high four turnovers twice, accomplishing the feat against Rollins (March 14) and Lynn (March 7). 

A standout on the Flyers offense, Good was selected for the second team after he ended the regular season ranked third on the Flyers for points (52) and tied for third in goals (32). Both his total goals and points ranked within the top-eight of the GLVC as well. The Canadian national had three-or-more goals on six occasions, highlighted by a career-high six scores against Quincy (March 21). Good snagged a pair of weekly awards as he was named both the GLVC Offensive Player of the Week (March 23) and named to the USILA Team of the Week (March 10). 

Trbovich collected second team honors after ending the year with eight ground balls, three caused turnovers and two goals. A defensive midfielder, Trbovich had a season-high two ground balls against Quincy (March 21) and notched a caused turnover in three contests. The Columbus, Ohio, native helped the Flyers defense hold their opponent to less than 10 goals this season on 10 occasions, highlighted by just allowing six goals on three occasions. 

The Flyers leader in net, Donahue earned honorable mention status after ending the year ranked as the league leader in goals against average and second in total save percentage. The Hugo, Minnesota, native had 10-or-more saves on six occasions, underscored by a 20 save performance against nationally ranked Newberry (Feb. 22). The Flyers main option in net was tabbed the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week twice and also landed on the USILA Team of the Week (Feb. 26), becoming the first member of the Flyers to earn the honor this season. 

Ottolino ended the year with 16 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers to help the Flyers defense. The Lockport, Illinois, native had a season-high three caused turnovers against Maryville (March 28) and Saint Leo (March 16). He grabbed a career-high five ground balls in the Flyers home-opener against Walsh (Feb. 9) to open the home slate. His 11 caused turnovers ranked fifth on the squad as well. 

Rappis ended the regular season ranked fifth on the team for both goals (22) and points (31). The Delafield, Wisconsin, native had back-to-back four goal performances against Rollins (March 14) and Saint Leo (March 16) with his four goals also a season-high as well. The sophomore ended the year with 10 ground balls as well. 

The most recent weekly award winner for the Flyers, Ray ended the 2026 regular season campaign with 15 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers. His 13 casued turnovers ranked fourth on the squad for the Flyers as well. This past week, the freshman defender had a career day this past weekend against then No. 15 Rockhurst as he set new season-highs in both ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (4) during the Flyers 13-7 win to earn GLVC Co-Regular Season Champions. His performances landed him not only GLVC Defensive Player of the Week accolades, but also a spot on the USILA Team of the Week. 

A cornerstone of the Flyers defense, Suchy ended the year ranked top-three on the Flyers and top-five in the GLVC for caused turnovers with 23. The defender had a caused turnover in all but two games this season and tallied a season-high five against Rollins (March 14). The Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, native also notched 35 ground balls which ranked third on the Flyers roster this season. Suchy also had an impact on the offense as he ended the year with three assists. 

Additionally, Joe Janda (Livonia, Michigan/St. Mary's Preparatory HS) was named the recipient of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Awards are given each year to the institutions and student-athletes who actively demonstrate exemplary sportsmanship, character, and conduct during competition throughout the year. The James R. Spalding Individual Sportsmanship Award winners are selected from each institution's season-long list of nominees compiled by each sport's head coaches.

The top-seeded Flyers will play #4 seed UIndy this Friday at 1 p.m. in the semifinal round of the GLVC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
