Indianapolis, Ind. - After helping the nationally-ranked Lewis University men's lacrosse team claim both the Great Lakes Valley Conference Co-Regular Season Championship and rights to host the 2026 GLVC Men's Lacrosse Tournament, freshman
Braylon Ray (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) was named the GLVC Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Ray is the 10th Flyer this year to earn either GLVC Offensive/Defensive Player of the Week or USILA Team of the Week accolades. It is the first career weekly award for the Rockford, Michigan, native as well.
In his lone game of the week, Ray set new season-highs in both ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (4) in the Flyers 13-7 win over No. 15 Rockhurst this past Saturday. The win, Lewis' fourth against a ranked squad this year, clinched the Flyers right to host the GLVC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
The top-seeded Flyers are back in action at home on Friday at 1 p.m. against #4 seed UIndy in the first round of the GLVC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
