David Delahanty Award - given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence - and named to Academic All-MIVA Team...named AVCA All-American First Team for the second consecutive season...nabbed All-MIVA First Team honors...selected to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, as well as MIVA All-Tournament Team...a member of the Volleyball Magazine All-American Second Team...named MIVA Player of the Week twice(Feb. 10 and March 31)...had 18 matches with double-digit kills, including two double-doubles...fourth in the MIVA for hitting percentage (.355)...recorded a season high 20 kills in the NCAA National Championship match against Loyola (May 9)...ended his career ranked second for the rally-scoring era in kills with 1368 and fourth in digs with 589.

2013 Highlights: Named Academic All-MIVA and a Delahanty Award honoree…played in all 30 matches…named AVCA All-America Second Team and Volleyball Magazine First Team…earned All-MIVA First Team and MIVA All-Tournament Team honors…earned MIVA Offensive Player of the Week on January 7, March 4 and March 18….posted 20 double-figure kill matches and collected three double-doubles…put up a career-high 26 kills on UCSD (January 24)…hit a career-high .767 with 24 kills in a five set victory over BYU (January 11)…in a three set sweep at Ohio State (March 2), he hit .462 with 15 kills and 11 digs…had 21 kills and 14 digs in a five-set victory at George Mason (March 6)...completed the year ranked 14th in the nation with 3.63 kills-per-set average and 19th with a 4.12 points-per-set average...posted the second-most total kills among MIVA teams (385) and third-highest kills-per-set average (3.63).
2012 Highlights: Recipient of Delahanty Award and a member of the MIVA Academic All-Conference team...named MIVA Freshman of the Year...named to All-Tournament Team at the NCAA Championships...named to All-MIVA Tournament Team...played in 30 matches with 16 starts...second on the team with 223 kills...recorded 19 kills and seven digs vs. Ball State (April 6)...hit .355 with 17 kills and nine digs in the NCAA Semifinals at USC (May 3)...added a double-double of 17 kills and 10 digs at Ohio State in the MIVA Championship (April 28)...recorded 17 kills while hitting .625 vs. Mount Olive (Feb. 28)...finished with 13 kills at Pepperdine (Jan. 8)...totaled 12 kills, five digs and two aces vs. Grand Canyon (April 13)...added 12 kills in the MIVA Semifinals vs. Loyola (April 25).
2011 Highlights: Used season as a redshirt campaign.
Prep/Personal: As a senior, Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection, Pacific League MVP, Claremont High School's Athlete of the Year, First Team All-CIF, helped team to a 31-1 record...as a junior, named a Top 34 Underclassman by Volleyball Magazine, MVP All-League and All-California Interscholastic Federation Second Team...as a sophomore, took First Team All-League honors...helped Claremont to a league championship each of his first three years...member of the honor roll and named a scholar athlete...earned the Delta Sigma Theta Award...brings clubs experience with Riptide OC...participated in the USA Volleyball High Performance Camp in the summers of 2008 and 2009...won the Top Athlete Award at the USA High Performance Camp in 2008...son of Ron and Cheryl Powell...computer science major.
