2018 Highlights: Earned Academic All-MIVA accolades...recipient of the Br. David Delahanty award given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence...appeared in all 30 matches, including four starts...matched his career-highs with eight kills and hit .471 (8-0-17) in a three-set win over Benedictine (Jan. 20)...picked up seven kills, a season-high eight digs and matched his career-high with three block assists in the three-set win over Lincoln Memorial (March 2).
2017 Highlights:Â Participated in the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships...earned Academic All-MIVA accolades...appeared in all 30 matches, including four starts...recorded a season-high seven kills and hit .500 (7-1-12) in a five-set win over McKendree (Feb. 11)...picked up six kills, a season-high eight digs, and a career-high four assists while hitting .455 (6-1-11) in a five-set win over No. 13 Penn State (March 24).
2016 Highlights: Recipient of the Br. David Delahanty Award - given to Lewis student-athletes for academic excellence - and named to Academic All-MIVA Team…played in 30 matches with six starts…notched 17 digs vs. Saint Francis (PA) (Jan. 15)…recorded 16 digs at Ball State (Feb. 18)…totaled eight kills with five digs at Saint Francis (PA) (March 24)…added five kills vs. Princeton (March 16).
2015 Highlights: Used this season as a redshirt campaign.
Prep/Personal: As a junior, named the Southtown/Star Player of the Year...seleted to the IHSA All-Tournament Team...averaged 19.3 kills-per-match in the IHSA State Tournament as the he helped the Lincoln-Way North squad to a runner-up finish with a 38-4 overall record...with Ultimate Volleyball Club, helped the 18s team to a fifth-place ranking in the nation as he collected a silver medal in 2012 and 2013 at the High Performance Championships...son of Al and Sue Walenga...economics major.
