2015 Highlights: Made ten appearances with nine starts for the Flyers after coming off an injury…stuck out 37 batters through 56 innings…claimed his first win of the season against Bellarmine (Apr. 4) when he allowed only one run and struck out six through 6.1 innings.

2014 Highlights: Used season as a redshirt campaign due to injury.

2013 Highlights: Named to the All-GLVC First Team, ABCA Midwest Region First Team, Daktronics Midwest Region First Team, NCBWA Midwest Region Second Team…made 13 starts for the Flyers, tossing four complete games…led the team in wins (10), innings pitched (97.0), strike outs (72) and ERA (1.95)…threw 9.0 innings against Missouri-St. Louis (March 16), Bellarmine (April 6), and Quincy (May 9)…struck out a season-high eight batters against Gannon (March 8) and McKendree (March 29).

2012 Highlights: Started 12 games on the mound...led Lewis in wins (7), innings pitched (85.2) and strikeouts (62)...went all nine innings in a five-hit, two-run, nine-strikeout victory over Indianapolis in the GLVC Tournament (May 10)...allowed just one run with six strikeouts in game one vs. Saint Joseph's (March 31)...earned a win thanks to allowing just two runs in 7.2 innings at Indianapolis (April 6)...allowed only three earned runs in 7.0 innings with five strikeouts in game two at Kentucky Wesleyan (April 15)...struckout nine Norse batters over 8.0 innings to get the win in game one at Northern Kentucky (May 5)...was the tough-luck loser after allowing just one earned run in 9.0 innings in game one vs. Bellarmine (April 27).

2011 Highlights: Named GLVC Pitcher of the Week (April 4)...made nine pitching appearances with eight starts...also started five games at first base...didn’t allow an earned run (two unearned), with 10 strikeouts in 8.0 innings vs. Morningside (March 1)...fanned 10 batters and gave up just one unearned run in an 8.0 inning win vs. Indianapolis (April 2)...gave up just one run in 8.1 innings at Bellarmine (April 30)...gave up two runs in 7.0 innings vs. Northern Kentucky (May 7)...surrendered three runs in a 7.0 innings to get a win at Saint Josephs (April 10)...at the plate, collected two hits and an RBI vs. Mary (March 4), vs. UIS (March 19) and vs. Southern Indiana in the GLVC Tournament (May 13).

Prep/Personal: Named Southtown Star First Team All-Area as a senior and junior...also as a senior, named team MVP, all-conference and Lincoln Way Central's Most Distinguished Athlete...helped Lincoln Way Central to a 26-9 record and a conference and regional championship...compiled a 9-2 record on the mound with a 2.25 ERA while hitting .390...as a junior, Joliet Herald First Team All-Area and all-conference...led the club in batting average (.444), hits (40) and RBI (27)...led the team in innings pitched (49.1), strikeouts (47) and wins (5)...academically, named to the high honor roll...played with Illinois Sparks club team in 2008 and 2009, hitting .435 in 2008...son of Martin and Suzanne Helwich...Sport Management major.
