VENICE, Fla.-- -
The Lewis University swimming teams completed their ten-day winter training trip with an unscored meet against NCAA Division I Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The Flyers left for Florida Dec. 28 and returned Jan. 7 after having spent the time preparing for the final six weeks of the season. On Jan. 7, Lewis faced Wisconsin-Green Bay in a semi-competitive meet. Each member of each team swam the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle and 100 individual medley.
"We had several objectives on the trip and we achieved them all," said Lewis University head coach Jennifer Arndt. "I wanted the teams to train on a long course and we did that almost every day. We also did a lot of team building.
"Overall, I wanted them to come back stronger than when we left and they accomplished that. They trained out of their minds."
